What is the #1 most important “take away” a child will receive from reading the book?
In life we are constantly bombarded with challenges –I hope that after reading COOL2BEEME^tm that kids will take home the concept that falling is not failing as longs you get back up, believe in yourself and persevere. I hope that kids will stop for an instant before making choices in their lives, look to Bigsbee as a mentor and ask themselves, “What would Bigsbee do!”

Why did you choose a bee as the “mascot” for your book?
Bumblebees are not designed to fly, their tiny wings are far too small to lift their round fuzzy bodies… aeronautical engineers have been stumped for decades on how bumblebees fly; they have taken the impossible and made it possible. I used this metaphor and created a character that was a Big Bee…thus Bigsbee! Also, did you know that flowers and their fragrance were created only to draw bumblebees and other flying insects to them, in order to create more flowers and more fragrance? AND… the first known sweetener to man was honey…so in a nut shell, without flying bees, we would live in a world void of flowers, fragrance and sweetness! I want kids to get that even the smallest thing,…can make a difference!

Why did you write the book?
My passion is to help unleash the potential in our children and help them discover their own unique abilities. I wanted to create a tool so valuable that it would bring smiles to the faces of the precious children in your lives, nurture their character and build their self esteem! This book is the medium to my message. I say it’s, “COOL2BEEYOU”…and I hope the children who read about Bigsbee’s journey will someday say and see…that Hey…It’s “COOL2BEEME!”

Children don’t just read books they experience them…Let the precious children in your lives experience the unbee-lievable journey of Bigsbee and his friends as they strive to reach their goals and discover their brilliance along the way. Bigsbee is a mixture of vision, perseverance, courage, kind heart and unique abilities that lead him to fly, both literally and figuratively.

What makes Bigsbee Cool?
He’s like the Cinderella story of the insect world! The underdog who rises to the top…the small bumblebee with a crooked foot but a brave heart and the self confidence to see past obstacles and bullies and recognize opportunities and dreams! Bigsbee is flawed and imperfect like the rest of us…yet he is a hero to those who believe and follow his dream.
